One of the oldest beauty brands in the world, Elizabeth Arden (born Florence Nightingale Graham) founded her eponymous brand over a century ago in 1910 with the opening of her iconic Red Door salon on New York’s Fifth Avenue. Elizabeth Arden played a key role in establishing makeup as ‘appropriate’ for women; prior to the early 20th century makeup had been typically associated with prostitutes.
In 1912, Arden participated in the suffragette movement by supplying red lipstick to the suffragettes, with the shade becoming an integral part of the suffragette uniform and a symbol of female empowerment and emancipation.
Today, we’re taking a look at the newly released Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation; a foundation made with skin-loving ingredients. Let’s dive into it.

A foundation formula with skincare properties, the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation features hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate the skin, antioxidant-rich vitamin E to protect against environmental aggressors, and vitamin C to brighten skin and aid in protecting against free radical damage caused by factors like UV exposure.
A botanical blend featuring ingredients like cucumber, mallow, and chamomile works to soothe and comfort the skin, while ceramides support a healthy skin barrier.

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation comes in 40 shades with a range of neutral, warm, and cool undertones available, meaning there’s a shade for every skin tone.
How to use it
While there’s no one way to apply the Flawless Skincaring foundation, we find it works best layered over the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Hydrating Serum Primer. Its lightweight, natural texture means you can apply with either your fingers or a makeup brush or beauty blender of your choice.
The feel
The Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation is easy to apply and goes on smoothly, with medium coverage and natural, slightly dewy finish.
The benefits
A non-comedogenic formula, the Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation is breathable and doesn’t cause breakouts, while the inclusion of hyaluronic acid and ceramides makes for a foundation that doesn’t settle into fine lines and pores as the day wears on.
Elizabeth Arden claims this formula lasts for up to 24 hours, and though we don’t plan to test that out (as we’re sticklers for double cleansing every evening), it did last throughout the work day (with a little help from a good setting spray).
AR verdict
The ideal makeup base for those looking for more coverage than a tinted moisturiser or serum foundation and less than a heavy-duty full coverage foundation. We love the lightweight, barely-there feel for use during the day.
