Remembrance of Things Past With The Fuel Green Wasp OSSA

Major vintage vibes.

Haven’t heard of Ossa Motorcycles? No dramas, you’re not alone. The Spanish motorcycle manufacturer produced trustworthy yet simple road and commuter bikes from 1924 to 1982, however, they were most famous for their off-road motos.

Back in the nostalgic days of motocross, long before the Japanese manufacturers dominated the scene, Ossa reigned supreme with their line up of enduro machines. Simple? Yeah. Reliable? Yeah. Ridiculously fast? Hell yeah.

A celebration of a good thing now gone, The Fuel Green Wasp OSSA motorcycle sees the transformation of a locally souced (Fuel began in Barcelona while Ossa was a Spanish company, so they didn’t have to look far) 1971 OSSA Pioneer 250. A popular style during the ‘70s in Europe and America, Fuel wanted their iteration to be competitive without sacrificing aesthetics. “Our inspiration was the old Triumph dirt trackers of the 1970s,” says Karles Vives, head of the Fuel workshop. “The main idea was to make a motorcycle as simple as possible, with only the essentials needed to run”.

Fuel Motorcycles’ love of vintage aesthetics is evident in the restoration, with a layer of green chilli metal flake paint. Making its debut at ‘El Rollo’ flat track event at the French ‘Wheels and Waves’ festival, The Fuel Green Wasp OSSA managed to ride all the way to the finals, cementing it as a bike that performs on the track and looks good off it.
