You Can Buy Two Of Princess Diana’s Most Iconic Sweaters Thanks To Rowing Blazers

Over two decades after her passing, Princess Diana’s style is more covetable than ever. Though historically most of the attention was focused on her post-divorce style transformation, the comfortable aesthetic of her ’80s style strikes a chord with the loungewear-driven nature of 2020. That’s why preppy-chic American label Rowing Blazers has worked with two of Princess Di’s favourite knitwear designers to recreate two of her iconic sweaters.

Known for being playful and witty, Princess Diana often used her sartorial choices to make a statement. Worn to several polo matches in the early ’80s, one of her most memorable sweaters was a red jumper patterned with white sheep, and a single black sheep. Designed by the now defunct knitwear label Warm & Wonderful it seemed to cheekily reference her place within the royal family.

The second design, originally by Gyles & George, is a pastel pink sweater with “I’M A LUXURY—” emblazoned across the front, ending with “FEW CAN AFFORD” on the back. Princess Di donned this sweater in the mid ’80s for a portrait with her sons William and Harry.

While there have been several copycat iterations, Rowing Blazers are the first company to work with the original designers, providing this collection with a special touch.
