Tommy Jeans Fall 2020 Taps Into The Nostalgic Zeitgeist Of This Year

During a year in which we’d rather be in almost any other timeframe, Tommy Hilfiger’s Tommy Jeans Fall 2020 transports us to the ’90s, with a nostalgia-inducing collection featuring retro streetwear and athleisure style fits.

Building upon Tommy Hilfiger’s overarching vision to ‘Waste Nothing and Welcome All,’ the Tommy Jeans collection prioritises sustainability and inclusivity. The Fall 2020 collection is imbued with the rebellious spirit that forms the basis of Tommy Jeans, while continuing Tommy Hilfiger’s mission to reduce its environmental impact by incorporating innovative materials and utilising sustainable production methods.

Tommy Jeans works to combat textile waste by designing the majority of the collection using 100% recycled denim styles, made using an innovative technique that blends cotton scraps from the apparel industry’s factory floors and hotel industry’s bed linens, stitched with thread made from recycled plastic PET bottles. Similarly, the collection’s newly launched Critter-embroidered icon styles are also crafted from 100% recycled denim, intended to be worn individually as statement pieces, or paired together to form a set. Other sustainable pieces in the Tommy Jeans Fall 2020 collection include organic cotton sweatpants and 100% recycled cotton mom jeans.

Consisting of menswear and womenswear with a vintage vibe, the Fall 2020 features retro logo-laden denim jackets, jeans, and printed puffer jackets. Outsized colourful knits, plaid shirts, and hoodies also come into play, catering to the nostalgic spirit of our time.

The Tommy Jeans Fall 2020 campaign features a multidisciplinary mix of creatives including musicians, models, DJs and dancers. The lineup comprises Sheani Gist, Havana Liu, Lucia Luciano, Wooseok Lee, Ohkemo, Salem Mitchell, G Meyer and Carlie Hanson, with each creative displaying their own unique point of view by shooting the campaign on their own mobile devices.
