Kate Moss Proposes A Lacey Post Pandemic Wardrobe In Self-Portrait Pre-fall 2021

Two British icons come together in the Self-Portrait pre-fall 2021 campaign. Starring Kate Moss and captured by British photographer and long-term friend of Moss’, Nigel Shafran, the British label’s latest campaign is here to remind us of the joy of getting dressed up.

Set in the bucolic location of Gloustershire, the campaign sees the British supermodel don Self-Portrait’s pre-fall 2021 collection, with elegant simplicity being the name of the game. The 27-piece collection features timeless silhouettes in luxurious fabrics, designed to be worn with ease while injecting an element of glamour into the quotidian.

“What I love about Self-Portrait is their unique style and versatility which appeals to many different women,” said Moss of the label. “I’ve always respected Self-Portrait and how Han [Chong] runs his business. I’m impressed by how it’s so instinctively driven, it’s about wanting to make women feel great without having to spend a fortune. I think that’s really important, especially at times like these.”

Indeed, the Self-Portrait pre-fall 2021 collection appears to be designed with optimism in mind. Keeping Han Chong’s newfound vision of elegant simplicity at its forefront, the collection features fewer frills and embellishments than its predecessors, with silhouettes taking on cleaner lines and tones adopting a more neutral colour palette. Rather than go from 0-100 by switching out our tracksuits for slinky party dresses and stilettos, Chong proposes a more gradual shift in the form of thigh-skimming hemlines, cut-out dresses in easy-to-wear fabrics, and off-the-shoulder taffeta mini dresses.

“If you ask me who optimises the Self-Portrait spirit and woman, it is, and always has been, Kate Moss,” said Self-Portrait founder and designer Han Chong of the campaign. “Her enormous appetite for life and her infectious sense of fun are what characterize the women I think about when I’m designing my collections – there is this sense of freedom, of effortlessness, of embracing life.”
