From Louis Vuitton and Supreme to Prada and Adidas (or Gucci and Adidas, for that matter), heritage luxury fashion houses are continually searching for ways to appeal to the edgier, streetwear sensibilities of the contemporary market. The latest rest of Gucci’s modus operandi? A collaboration with British skateboarding and clothing brand Palace Skateboards.

The collaboration sees Alessandro Michele, creative director of Gucci, join forces with Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis, co-founders of Palace Skateboards, to engage in a sartorial dialogue that unites their seemingly disparate yet inextricably linked worlds — Palace Gucci, if you will. The collaborative collection is comprehensive, spanning menswear and womenswear; marking the first time Palace designer Fergus Purcell has delved into the latter.

According to Gucci, the collaboration is “Guccier than Gucci” — yeah, we don’t know what that means either — with pieces spanning everything from signature Palace Triferg hoodies, horsebit loafers (with dangly Palace hardware), and logo-laden miniskirts with crystal thong detailing to motorcycle leathers and an actual Moto Guzzi V7 motorbike, complete with Palace Gucci leather seating and saddlebags.

The Palace Gucci collaboration will be available on the 21st of October, via the Gucci Vault webstore; the platform created by Alessandro Michele with the intention of showcasing the Italian fashion house’s drips, vintage stock, curated third-party goods, and various Web 3.0 initiatives.
