Anthony Vaccarello Reveals Saint Laurent SS21 Menswear With High-Intensity Short Film

Earlier this year, French luxury fashion house Saint Laurent announced its departure from the traditional fashion calendar for 2020, citing a desire “to take control of its pace and reshape its schedule.” This year, Saint Laurent are doing things differently, unveiling creative director Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent SS21 Menswear collection through a unique virtual experience.

Titled No Matter How Long The Night Is, the video is part of the Saint Laurent Men’s Spring Summer 2021 Project curated by Anthony Vaccarello, which consists of videos, augmented reality, 3D lenticular imagery, music playlist, street posters, hidden stickers, photo walls, and flags, which serve to connect places around the world.

Directed by Nathalie Canguilhem, No Matter How Long This Night Is takes place over six minutes and across the cities of Paris, New York, and Beijing. Showcasing the Saint Laurent SS21 Menswear collection, the high-intensity film depicts Saint Laurent models performing parkour-style stunts, racing across rooftops and railings, before taking part in a runway on the Eiffel Tower, high over the city night.

The collection includes all the key elements we’ve come to expect from the new Saint Laurent; louche yet elegant slimline tailoring, bomber jackets redone in leaf-sorned material, applique blazers, floral print shirts for the holidays we can’t yet go on, jean cutt-offs, and tailored shorts, paired with accessories like woven metallic loafers, rope sandals, leather belts, chains (naturally), and woven necklaces and bracelets.
