The 2024 Aston Martin Vantage Is A Brutish British Beast

Not one to rest on its laurels, Aston Martin is starting the year off strong. While last year saw the release of the sexy new DB12 ‘Super Tourer’, the British marque has now turned its attention towards the iconic Vantage bloodline. The 2024 Aston Martin Vantage sees the sporty model take its most driver-focused approach yet.

While we bid farewell to the bonkers V12 in 2022, the 2024 Aston Martin Vantage gets an upgrade in power thanks to the heavily modded 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo, producing 655 bhp and 590 ft-lb of torque, marking gains of 30% and 15% over its predecessor. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, these outputs allow it to jump from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 325km/h.

The jump in power comes thanks to extensive tuning by the marque’s engineers, as well as the adoption of modified cam profiles, optimised compression ratios, larger turbos, and increased cooling.

However, Aston Martin is placing the emphasis on the revamped chassis architecture, which according to the marque is a core component of the Vantage’s driver-focused ethos. “Vantage will make headlines for the huge increases in power and torque over the outgoing model, but it’s the vivid way in which it deploys such immense performance that will seduce enthusiasts and purists,” says Roberto Fedeli, chief technical officer at Aston Martin. The upgraded technology promises increased agility and a sharper steering response, with intensified handling coming courtesy of an advanced vehicle dynamics control system.

More of a revamp than a new release, the 2024 Aston Martin Vantage features some significant changes to the exterior. Namely, a wider (30mm, to be precise) body with a more muscular stance, accompanied by a redesigned front-end that sees the grille recontoured to promote better cooling. There’s also additional cooling intakes on either side of the grille, while a new integrated splitted contributes to the Vantage’s dynamic appearance. Rounding out the front is a new LED headlamp design that features the marque’s new light signature.

Moving inside, the newcomer is finally as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. A redesigned cabin ups the ante with a sleeker aesthetic (think hand-stitched Bridge of Weir leather) and an optional surround sound system developed by Bowers & Wilkins. The infotainment system borrows from the DB12, with the 10.25” screen and Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity remaining the same.

The new Aston Martin Vantage is set to arrive in dealerships in Q2, 2024.
