Bottega Veneta Proposes That The New It-Bag Is…A Tote

A pragmatic expression of old and new, the latest Bottega Veneta bag showcases the brand’s signature intrecciato technique. The Italian luxury fashion house’s answer to the Hermès Birkin, the Bottega Veneta Andiamo bag is designed to carry it all. Andiamo — which means ‘Let’s go’ in Italian — is a tribute to the act of, well, going places.

Tending towards the quiet luxury and old money trends, the design does away with micro designs, instantly recognisable silhouettes (think the Dior Saddle Bag), and logo hardware, instead elevating the humble tote to luxury status. Inspired by weekender bags, it taps into creative director Matthieu Blazy’s vision of ‘elevated everyday’. You see, Blazy’s world is one where seemingly innocuous jeans and flannels are crafted from supple leather; put simply, the devil is in the details.

Informed by the art of travel, the Bottega Veneta Andiamo bag is a carry-all crafted from soft paper calf leather and features sliding adjustable braided leather straps (the bag can be worn over the shoulder or as a crossbody) linked by a metal knot. The latter is a continuation of the Bottega Veneta Knot family and features subtle brass detailing.

Available in small, medium, and large sizes, the Andiamo is fit to go where you do — whether it be to pound the pavement of the concrete jungle or further ashore. The ideal accompaniment to Bottega Veneta’s classic yet laidback approach to tailoring and overall sense of understated elegance, the Andiamo is set to be a timeless staple.
