Farfetch And Nataal Join Forces To Celebrate Black Creativity In Fashion

As part of its efforts to support Black-owned brands, luxury online retailer Farfetch has launched a year-long partnership with Nataal, a global multimedia brand that celebrates contemporary fashion, beauty, visual arts, music and culture from Africa and its diaspora.

Launched on the 3rd February to coincide with US Black History Month, the partnership begins with a campaign with Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing.

Inspired by Rousteing’s Black style icons (including the likes of Grace Jones, Josephine Baker, Prince, and Beyoncé), this story was brought to life by fellow Black creatives – photographer Kenny Germé and stylist Edem Dossou – through a shoot and editorial that express how the spirit of these icons remains an enduring influence on modern luxury and style today.

“It was important for us to share this opportunity with Kenny and Edem, two Black artists in Paris who have brought their unique gaze to this story alongside a diverse creative team,” said Nataal creative director, Marie Gomis-Trezise. “We hope this project opens doors for more young Black French artists to work with luxury houses in future.”
