New York-based design office Crosby Studios have opened its first flagship store, following the launch of its first set of homeware items last month. The brainchild of Russian designer Harry Nuriev, Crosby Studios Home is located in the Zamoskvorechye district of Moscow, Russia. In addition to showcasing home and lifestyle goods, the space acts as a multipurpose store, combining elements of a boutique, living room, café, social gathering space, as well as a design studio. Additionally, the space houses the new Crosby Studios architecture and interior design headquarters.

Aiming to bring high end design and luxury goods to the masses, Crosby Studios Home showcases pieces that maintain a sense of individualism and nonconformity. Upon entering the flagship, visitors are welcomed by a sunken blue lounge, designed to be reminiscent of a pool of water. Surrounding it are several of Nuriev’s designs, including velour dining chairs, plush body pillows, a checkerboard table and chair set, furry ottomans, and colourful, minimalist metal shelves and light fittings.
The cobalt blue colour scheme extends to the accompanying café and bar, which offer a service more akin to an experimental gastronomy lab. The Crosby Studios cobalt blue lends itself to menu items like patisseries, chocolate bars, sandwiches (made with blue buns), and glittery champagne. “The concept store is a place for people to find inspiration, recharge, drink coffee, go on a date, or shop for a new candle or chair. Everything in the space is for sale—from cookies to high-end, hand-crafted furniture pieces,” Harry Nuriev says of the space.
