Initially established in Sydney’s Paddington, The Manse clinics have new digs in the CBD, with The Manse Uptown sitting atop Christian Dior on Castlereagh Street. Stemming from a desire to offer beauty-goers an unparalleled experience in cosmetic injectables and skin treatments, cosmetic doctor Dr Naomi McCullum founded The Manse clinics in 2016.

Set on the third level of the heritage-listed Culwulla Chambers, The Manse Uptown offers a chic, sophisticated space for inner city clientele to receive a varied menu of cosmetic services and skin treatments.
“Our top treatments are fillers, botulinum toxin, threads, RF microneedling and our signature laser skin treatments that combine IPLs or laser with a doctor-strength peel and an LED,” The Manse Uptown founder and cosmetic doctor Dr. Naomi McCullum tells us.
Designed by Matt Nadilo, the space at The Manse Uptown is a feast for the eyes. Reflecting Dr. Naomi’s minimalist philosophy and meticulous approach to cosmetic medicine, the space displays elegance in restraint, whilst catering to the aesthetically-inclined. Pared-back brightly-lit white French clad walls and herringbone parquet wooden floorboards surround dusty-pink chaise lounges, marble detailing, plush velvet furniture, and iridescent perspex surfaces, while copper touches and bronze signage add effortless chic. The olfactory-minded are also catered to, with forest green Cire Trudon candles adorning the windows, burning an aromatic moss-grass fragrance which instantly imbues patients with a sense of calm.
The soft colour palette carries through to four private treatment rooms, which feature custom-designed terrazzo joinery, pastel coved flooring, luxurious examination couches, and The Manse’s signature hand-painted, gold foil Wabi wallpaper by Calico.
“The Manse Uptown is open and bright. We left the floor-to-ceiling height glass windows at the entry open to the corridor to offer patients and passers-by a sense of what’s going on,” says Dr. Naomi of the design choice. “The glowing brass retail display intersects the wall panelling, hinting at the idea of augmentation and transformation. And the reception area is almost like the foyer of a boutique hotel, luxurious and welcoming.”
As for what we can expect to see in the beauty industry going forward? Well, the increase of WFH setups have heavily contributed to patients’ treatment goals.
“Patients have obviously been seeing more of their faces during all the Zoom meetings. On top of that, our faces look quite different when they are in motion when we are talking than what they look like at rest,” says Dr. Naomi, adding that “there are different types of flaws that become more noticeable. This new way of working is definitely a trigger for patients wanting treatments.”
