Coco Republic Celebrates The Shared Antipodean Sensibilities Of Australia & California

Geographically disparate yet united in sensibility, Australia and California share a similar approach to indoor-outdoor living. Released alongside Australian design house Coco Republic’s expansion into North America, the ‘A Golden State of Mind’ campaign showcases the antipodean way of living, proposing that summer is not merely a season, but a state of mind.

With the Pacific ocean linking both locations, Coco Republic views natural elements through a sophisticated lens, photographing the Californian desert and Australia’s east coast in tandem. Both locations serve to amplify the seamless indoor-outdoor flow offered by Coco Republic, with standout pieces including the Navagio Outdoor Curved Sofa, Sardinia Outdoor Sofa and Occasional Chair, and the Architect Outdoor Sunlounge. Each outdoor piece represents a harmonious marriage of stylish aesthetics with durable fabrics, treating the outdoors as an extension of the indoors and allowing customers to take a room-like approach when outfitting their space.

Meanwhile, indoor furniture takes a pared-back approach, with streamlined silhouettes and a neutral colour palette letting the surrounding nature and stunning architectural details take centre stage. Coalescing comfort and understated style, the Dune Modular Sofa is photographed in a home in California’s Palm Springs, with the clean lines of the piece drawing the eye towards it without detracting from the stunning view. Paired with the organic, statement-making silhouette of the La Croix Chaise and the nature-inspired design of the Nobu Burnt Flower Wood Coffee Table, the living room epitomises the uncomplicated approach to luxury Coco Republic has become known for.

The newest additions to the Coco Republic collection are designed to celebrate the landscapes and complement the architectural styles of the Pacific, effortlessly slotting into homes across California and Australia’s coastal regions. Prioritising quality craftsmanship and timeless design, both the indoor and outdoor ranges epitomise the inherent similarities between the two geographically disparate locations.

“Our ethos has always been to make pieces that forge connections,” says Anthony Spon-Smith, creative director and vice chairman at Coco Republic. “But with our ambitious new collection and brand campaign, we push this idea into new territory, inspiring consumers on two sides of the Pacific to create spaces that make lasting memories.”

Well established throughout Australia and New Zealand, Coco Republic has now expanded into North America, with the opening of its first stateside store in Union Square, San Francisco.
