Taking their audio off the streets and onto pavements, the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 McLaren Edition is built on the reference-standard sound quality of the recently released Px8 and pays homage to the high-performance hybrid Mclaren Artura supercar through its singular aesthetic. The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 McLaren Edition headphones are defined by a Galvanic grey finish and Papaya orange highlights, the latter hue inspired by the colour that originated on found Bruce McLaren’s early sportscars.

The performance-led headphones deliver high-quality sounds thanks to the addition of all-new bespoke 40mm Carbon COne drive units, inspired by technology used in Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers. The Carbon Cone drive units in the Px8 McLaren Edition headphones are carefully angled inside each earcup to ensure a consistent distance relative to the listener’s ears, resulting in a more immersive and highly accurate sound.

The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 McLaren Edition headphones utilise Qualcomm’s aptXTM Adaptive wireless technology which ensures the highest possible sound quality from compatible devices, as well as USB-C and 3.5mm analogue cable connections. For wireless and wired setups alike, the Px8 McLaren Edition headphones combine the Bowers & Wilkins’ high-performance drive unit with in-house Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to deliver 24-bit high-resolution sound quality from leading streaming services. Proprietary noise cancellation technology works to shut out any unwanted sound without compromising musicality.

“We are delighted to unveil the Px8 McLaren Edition, which builds on the award-winning and long-standing collaboration between McLaren and Bowers & Wilkins,” says George Biggs, chief sales and marketing officer at McLaren Automotive. “The shared ethos of pushing the boundaries, innovation and the pursuit for perfection is apparent in all products that both brands have collaborated on to date. With the new headphones, the immersive audio experience that all receive in our supercars can now go beyond the road.”

The Px8 McLaren Edition headphones are priced at $1500AUD and are available via the McLaren webstore
