Unfortunately for the eco-conscious retro car lovers among us, vintage and electric are rather like oil and water; they don’t mix. Fortunately, Italian start-up Totem Automobili has worked to change that, resulting in the Alfa Romeo Totem GT Electric.

Combining the racing DNA and heritage aesthetic of Alfa Romeo with the capabilities of modern technology, the Alfa Romeo Totem GT Electric utilises one of the most iconic cars of the 60s and 70s, the Alfa Romeo Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA. Totem have lent their contemporary influence to the Guilia GTA, reshaping the car with smoother lines, applying carbon grilles in the front for a sporty touch, redesigning the rear with a curvier shape and adding LED tail lights, and reconstructing the roof in carbon fibre to ensure it’s as lightweight as possible.
Run solely on batteries, the GT Electric delivers 518 hp and 722 ft-lbs of torque. Going from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds, it’s no ordinary eco-friendly Euro car, reaching a top speed of 245km/h. With a 50.4 kWh battery pack, the Totem GT is able to cover some serious distance, going up to 360km on a single charge.
With the lack of retro options being a key drawback to electric vehicles for many car enthusiasts, the Alfa Romeo Totem GT Electric proposes a brighter future with their elegant EV.
