Embodying the Longtail principles, the McLaren 765LT Spider places driver experience at its heart, with a dynamic, track-focused experience delivered through the vehicle’s low weight, enhanced aerodynamics, and extreme performance. The addition of a retractable hard-top roof further optimises the car’s aerodynamics and takes the driver experience to a new level.

“Sculpted for speed, the new 765LT Spider delivers untamed performance, and a finely honed, dynamically engaging driving experience that is pure to the Longtail lineage,” said Paul Harris, APAC and China managing director at McLaren. “Defined by its distinctive and striking appearance with the dynamic attributes of a stretched silhouette to enhance aerodynamics, the new 765LT Spider is a car without compromise. Every bit as exciting and rewarding to drive as the coupé, the new model makes the thrilling driving experience even more immersive, and we welcome this exhilarating addition to Australia.”

Like the standard model, the 765LT Spider is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 765PS (755 bhp) – representing a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio – and 590 ft-lbs torque. The 765LT Spider can go from 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 330km/h. Transmission gear ratios have also been revised, allowing the 765LT Spider to sprint to its top speed in just 20 seconds, marking the fastest lap times posted by a convertible LT model.

In pursuit of super-lightweight engineering, the one-piece carbon fibre body is carved and sculpted to increase downforce and optimise cooling, while lowered front suspension and a wider track front make for an aggressive stance. Utilising high-performance lightweight materials throughout the build, the 765LT Spider provides maximum driver feedback both on and off the track.

Now available in Australia in a limited run of 765 examples, the McLaren 765LT Spider starts at $684,900 AUD before on-road costs and extras.
