The Aspriationally Earthy Mercedes-Benz & Proenza Schouler Capsule Collection Caters To The Luxury Traveller

In line with the marque’s commitment to electric vehicles and emission-free transportation, Mercedes-Benz has joined forces with New York-based fashion label Proenza Schouler for a limited-edition capsule collection. United over a shared appreciation for exquisite materials and responsible design, the capsule draws inspiration from travel and the open road, with a curated set of seven gender-neutral styles created with the luxury traveller in mind.

Titled ‘The Power of Two’, the campaign for the united capsule collection features actress Laura Dern and her son, model and musician Ellery Harper. The duo captures the spirit of wanderlust that is central to the Mercedes-Benz and Proenza Schouler capsule collection, embarking on a coastal road trip in an all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS, which makes for a campaign laden with dreamy landscape visuals.

“With the ‘Power of Two’, both brands unite by sharing the same values in offering responsible luxury design and craft,” shared Bettina Fetzer, VP of communications & marketing at Mercedes-Benz AMG. “This collaboration aims to take customers and fans on a sustainable road trip that reflects timeless design, where fashion becomes a contemporary messenger of cultural change that enhances the value of individual lifestyle.”

Taking on an earthy aesthetic and utilising thoughtful materials, each piece from the collection reflects the passion for beautiful design and craftsmanship shared by both brands. Founded and helmed by design duo Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, womenswear label Proenza Schouler showcases its take on the instantly recognisable Mercedes-Benz star. The iconic logo appears in abstract form in various colourways on recycled cashmere blankets; think shades of marigold, ecru, and sky blue. An olive green trench coat provides the ultimate travel topper for transitional weather, with a jacquard lining featuring a statement star motif; a knit turtleneck is crafted from recycled cashmere; an eco-cotton tie-dye t-shirt – a staple in the Proenza Schouler line – is produced using organic and eco-friendly dye methods; and accessories include a graphic weekend tote cut from recycled wool and keychains made from upcycled leather and emblazoned with the Mercedes-Benz logo.

“We wanted to create a collection inspired by travel and the open road, and used this as an opportunity to try new, environmentally responsible production methods,” Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez explained of the impetus behind the capsule collection, adding that “the experience opened our eyes to how much can be done while designing through a sustainable lens, and we are grateful to Mercedes-Benz for their partnership through this process.”

The campaign and capsule collection are available to explore and shop via the Proenza Schouler webstore
