From Gucci and Balenciaga to The North Face and Supreme, we’re living in a collaboration-laden era. With that in mind, it takes a lot to excite us. However, the latest collaboration between inimitably cool New York brand Aimé Leon Dore and German marque Porsche does just that. Marking the second time the duo have collaborated, the latest Aimé Leon Dore x Porsche production takes the form of an olive-hued 911SC.

While the first collaboration between Porsche and Aimé Leon Dore saw them restore a Type 964 911 Carrera 4 that was presented at New York Fashion Week in 2020, the 911SC holds personal significance to Aimé Leon Dore founder and creative director Teddy Santis. “The vision for this project was always to portray the Super Carrera with a completely different type of intimacy than the 964 but in a way that would feel equally impactful,” says Santis. “The design of the vehicle and the creative direction for the project both come from my childhood on the Greek islands and the unique beauty of things that get better with age and wear in that environment.”

Known as the ALD 911SC, the vehicle represents Santis’ passion for the brand, transferring the same attention to detail and beautiful aesthetics he uses for ALD to the automotive world. Rendered in a classic Porsche olive green factory paint job, the ALD 911SC features auxiliary lights on the bonnet, sturdy 16″ Fuchs wheels, and a functional roof rack loaded with vintage basketballs and trunks. The adjustments mean the ALD 911SC is well-equipped for travel on roads that are not quite so polished, making it a grounded yet stylish travel companion.

As always, it’s (also) what’s on the inside that counts. Fortunately, the interior of the ALD 911SC is a masterclass in materials; traditional floor mats are swapped out for vintage Persian carpets which also make their way onto the edges of the doors, seats are restored in full-grain leather, and lined with bouclé (which also features on door panels and lines the trunk), with all materials processed by hand. Faded photographs and a beaded driver’s seat hint at Santis’ heritage, while providing a nostalgic effect.

While the Aimé Leon Dore x Porsche 911SC is a collab you can’t get your hands on, the duo have released an (almost) equally covetable merch drop. Consisting of sweaters, pullovers, mechanic jackets, t-shirts, and sweatshirts, as well as accessories like leather pouches and key holders, grille badges, scarves, driving gloves, caps, a car bag, and a tote bag, the lineup is imbued with the energy and distinct aesthetic of both brands.
