Joyful Fendi Chinese New Year Capsule Celebrates The Year Of The Ox

Symbolising strength, determination, and ambition, the Year of the Ox is an auspicious one. Paying homage to the intelligent and reliable oxen, the Fendi 2021 Chinese New Year Capsule collection celebrates the Year of the Ox, with a red and pink laden collection.

The campaign sees the Fendi FF monogram meet two symbolic flowers; chrysanthemums and peonies. An important part of Chinese culture, the chrysanthemum represents longevity, while the peony is a symbol of beauty, prosperity, and honour. Imbuing the Maison’s contemporary silhouettes with traditional Chinese symbolism makes for a sophisticated, yet joyful capsule.

The women’s collection sees iconic Fendi silhouettes infused with romance and elegance; the Peekaboo family has been crafted in red leather with pink lining for a chic peekaboo effect, while the Baguette family gets the multicoloured FF embroidery treatment, with the Nano size also available in a multicoloured floral satin print.

Tradition meets contemporary style in the miniature Pico Baguette, which takes on exquisite red micro beaded embroidery with pink and gold fringes and enamelled floral details. The Pico is also available in a China-exclusive variant in multicolour floral printed satin with red and gold fringes and ox horn and flower details on the buckle.

Florals are a recurring theme, making their way into the capsule’s accessories offerings in the form of a foulard, wrappy, cover mask, and hair accessories, all crafted in silk and adorned with a circular moon in honour of the Chinese lunar calender.

Ready-to-wear womenswear garments featuring the FF logo are offered in printed twill, jersey, and knitwear, continuing the pink and red theme. Meanwhile, the menswear collection also sees the FF logo take centre stage, albeit in a red and black colour scheme. Rounding out the collection is the signature Forever Fendi watch, embellished with a pink mother-of-pearl dial for the occasion.

The Fendi 2021 Chinese New Year Capsule collection is available in Greater China on fendi.cn from January 2021 and worldwide from April 2021.
