So, to help you differentiate the hits from the misses, we’ve put together the products worthy of your time this month.

Without further ado, here are the 19 best beauty and grooming releases of May and June 2023.

Designed to facilitate creative freedom, these multi-purpose quad palettes contain shades for the eyes, cheeks, and lips. Available in neutral Summerina Brown and Rosa Nidita, as well as the bold Wild Bouquet.

2. Frank Body Super Ceramide Barrier Oil

2. Drunk Elephant Protini Powerpeptide Resurfacing Serum

Exfoliating lactic acid works to improve skin texture and radiance, while strengthening peptides and amino acids fortify the skin barrier. Ideal for those with sensitive skin, the Drunk Elephant Protini Powerpeptide Resurfacing Serum can be used daily — in the morning or at night. For best results, follow up with the fellow skin-strengthening Protini Polypeptide Cream.

4. Summer Fridays Cherry Lip Butter Balm

Summer Fridays has released two new flavours of its signature lip Butter Balms. The vegan-friendly formulas contain a slew of moisturising plant butters and waxes, with the new formulas — Cherry and Pink Sugar — lending a light wash of red or pink colour.

5. Mesoestetic Skinretin 0.3%

The Mesoestetic Skinretin 0.3% combines 0.3% retinol and 0.7% bakuchiol, to renew and brighten the skin with minimal irritation.

6. Mecca Max Spot Dots Microtip Patches

The latest addition to Mecca Max’s blemish busting range, the Spot Dots Microtip Patches are designed to target blind spots and early-stage pimples. Dissolving micro tips deliver hyaluronic and salicylic acids to the skin, helping to shrink zits before they show up.

7. SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced

A supercharged version of a signaure Skinceuticals product, the A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced adds ProXylane, an exclsuive anti-ageing molecule, into the mix. The formula works to reduce collagen damage in the skin while increasing skin density and restoring firmness.

8. The Ordinary Aloe 2% + NAG 2%

Aloe vera and N-acetyl glucosamine (NAG) work synergistically in this lightweight formula to soothe acne-prone skin and aid in reducing redness and post-blemish marks.

9. Biobod Gentle Rice & Oat Cleansing Powder

Inspired by ancient cleansing rituals, this cleansing powder combines colloidal oatmeal and rice bran with brightening turmeric and clarifying willow bark. Pre- and post-biotics work to balance the skin’s microbiome as it cleanses.

10. Sachajuan Protective Hair Perfume Bois Noir

Heat protection never smelt better. Designed to moisturise the hair and reduce frizz while providing UV protection, this hair perfume features a new fragrance — Bois Noir — which boasts nuanced notes of white honey, cardamom, vanilla, sandalwood, and patchouli.

11. Kester Black Cosmeceutical Skincare

Nail polish and care brand Kester Black has gone beyond the phalanges, making its skincare debut. Launching with a trio of skincare products — Overachiever Balm Cleanser, Skin Drench Moisturiser, and The Caretaker Vitamin E Serum — the range combines cosmeceutical results with a unique sensory experience, with each product taking scent and texture into account.

12. Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Oil

Known for their cult-favourite micellar water, French skincare brand Bioderma has expanded its cleansing range. The new Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Oil is an oil-to-milk formula that dissolves makeup, while amino acids and omegas 3 and 6 strengthen the skin.

13. Grown Alchemist Skin Renewal Serum

A reformulation of the Australian skincare brand’s Detox Serum, the Grown Alchemist Skin Renewal Serum is a lightweight, hardworking formula designed to repair damage caused by environmental aggressors. Antioxidants and adaptogens like ashwagandha, echinacea, and niacinamide work to reduce oxidative stress, while hyaluronic acid and glycerin hydrate the skin and polypeptides help improve skin elasticity and tone.

14. Coco & Eve Youth Revive Haircare

Skincare meets haircare in the new Coco & Eve Youth Revive range. Retinol, probiotics, vitamin B and honey work to cleanse the scalp and nourish the hair, boosting strength, shine, and volume.

The Fresh Beauty Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Emulsion sees Damask rose extract, hyaluronic acid, and rose flower oil dispersed throughout a hydrating milky emulsion that works to deeply hydrate and moisturise the skin.

16. Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Riri

A limited-edition favourite returns to stay. Originally launched as part of the Fenty Beauty ‘Game Day Essentials’ Collection in partnership with the NFL, the Gloss Bomb in Riri has returned to join the core range. The dark mauve-pink hue features a subtle shimmer and is made with the brand’s beloved non-sticky, shea butter-enriched formula for smoother, plumper looking lips.

17. MCoBeauty Miracle Hyaluronic Tinted Serum

Combining skincare with makeup, the MCoBeauty Miracle Hyaluronic Tinted Serum is an ultra-lightweight foundation enriched with the hydrating benefits of hyaluronic acid. Available in eight shades, the serum-like formula provides buildable light-to-medium coverage, working to blur imperfections and conceal redness.

18. Laneige Cream Skin Cerapeptide

K-beauty brand Laneige has reformulated its best-selling two-in-one toner and moisturiser. Akin to a brink of water for thirsty skin, skin-strengthening cerapeptides (a fusion of ceramides and peptides) join white tea extract and hyaluronic acid to deeply moisturise and hydrate the skin. Its thin, milky texture allows the formula to penetrate the inner layers of the skin, increasing its ability to maintain moisture.

19. Kit No.4 Concentrate

Australian skincare brand kit has released a retinol alternative suitable for even the most sensitive skin. The brand’s botanical-led approach sees bakuchiol — renowned for its retinol-like effects — combined with hyrating aloe vera and antioxidant-rich bladderwack and blueberry extract. The result? A nourishing serum that works to smoothen fine lines and wrinkles without causing redness or irritation.
