AR Obsessions: Beauty & Grooming Favourites For November 2021

Welcome back to AR Obsessions, where we run through the lustworthy products we’re obsessing over in the Albert Review office this month. Here at AR HQ, we’re inundated with new offerings in the skincare and beauty realms each month. While it’s far from a tough burden to bear, you can be sure our opinions are discerning, with only the best of the best earning our seal of approval.

So, let’s get into it. These are the beauty, skincare, and grooming products we’re obsessing over in November 2021.

1. HoliFrog Grand Amino Cushion Cream

Known for their comprehensive range of situational cleansers, HoliFrog’s sole moisturiser is a pretty impressive one. Highly moisturising and rapidly absorbed, it’s loaded with skin-strengthening ingredients like peptides, ceramides, and amino acids. The HoliFrog Grand Amino Cushion Cream works for all skin types, with its lightweight texture suitable for oily skin and its buildable, nourishing nature simultaneously making it ideal for drier skin.

2. Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia

The perfect floral summer scent, Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia is delicately sweet thanks to pear blossom and brown sugar, while white florals of gardenia and jasmine provide an elevated touch. The sillage isn’t great so a generous spritz is necessary, however, the fragrance does linger on the skin for hours.

3. Emma Lewisham Illuminating Brighten Your Day Crème

A day cream with benefits, the Emma Lewisham Illuminating Brighten Your Day Crème delivers lightweight hydration while vitamin C brightens and natural AHA and BHA extracts provide gentle exfoliation. The inclusion of sustainably-sourced mica pigments gives the skin an instant glowy effect upon application. While it may not suffice during harsh winters, its ultra-lightweight texture makes it perfect for use during the warmer months.

4. Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Cream

A long time favourite, you can’t go wrong with Fenty Beauty’s range of glosses and the Gloss Bomb Cream is no exception. It delivers buildable colour coverage akin to lipstick in a moisturising creamy formula, making for supremely kissable lips. Each of the five shades is flattering on all skin tones, either on their own or atop lipstick.

5. SkinCeuticals Silymarin CF

If you’ve struggled with vitamin C serums inducing breakouts, SkinCeuticals Silymairn CF is the serum for you. In addition to the brightening effects of 15% pure ascorbic acid (vitamin C), it contains antioxidant silymarin and exfoliating salicylic acid to refine the skin and reduce breakouts while improving overall skin tone and radiance.

6. Susanne Kaufmann Body Butter

Body moisturisation can be a bit of a chore, however, a beautifully aromatic moisturiser goes a long way towards making the task more enjoyable. The Susanne Kaufmann Body Butter is rich yet sinks into the skin surprisingly quickly, leaving behind a sweet (but not cloying) fruity scent. A little goes a long way, with this body butter quickly taking dry, scaly limbs to task, providing them with much-needed nourishment.

7. Clarins Double Serum

An all-in-one anti-ageing serum, the Clarins Double Serum uses a dual hydrolipidic formula, with 21 active botanicals working to regenerate and energise the skin. Hero ingredient turmeric provides both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, while the lipid component of the formula helps soften and nourish the skin.

8. Davines Pasta & Love Softening Shaving Gel

This tongue-in-cheek range in fact smells nothing like pasta, instead boasting a luxurious citrus scent. It does as the name suggests, making for a smoother, more comfortable shaving experience.
