Dries Van Noten Beauty Is Coming To Australia

Luxury beauty brand Dries Van Noten Beauty will be launching in Australia on the 27th of August, 2024. Available exclusively through Mecca, the eponymous brand was founded by Dries Van Noten in 2021 and acts as a natural extension of the world the Belgian designer has created through his namesake fashion label. While Van Noten departed the fashion label he founded in 1986 this year, he’s still overseeing the creative direction of Dries Van Noten Beauty.

The Dries Van Noten fashion label is notable for its striking use of colour and patterns, with the same codes of contrast and juxtaposition applied to the packaging of the beauty brand’s fragrance bottles and lipstick cases. Inspired by apothecary vials, each fragrance bottle is visually cut in half, pairing translucent or opaque glass in a solid colour with a bold print on the lower half. Meanwhile, lipstick cases invite a clash of patterns, with unlikely combinations making for a bold visual statement. Both the brand’s fragrances bottles and lipstick cases are designed as collectible objets d’art and are refillable.

The Dries Van Noten Beauty olfactory universe seeks to extrapolate the notions explored in the designer’s clothing collections into fragrance forms. Questions like “How do you feel when you walk in a garden?” and “How can you translate a certain feeling, a certain emotion?” are explored through the art of scent, with Van Noten inviting renowned international perfumers to collaborate on a series of genderless scents that further expands the designer’s universe. Highlights in the range include Neon Garden, Santal Greenery, and Voodoo Chile.

Inside the aforementioned pattern-clashing lipstick cases, the beauty brand’s lipstick formula places emphasis not only on the finished effect, but the scent and feel of it on the lips. Enriched with rosehip oil and shea butter, the formulas come in satin, matte, and sheer finishes. Of the 30 shades in the brand’s current lineup, eight will be stocked at Mecca. While lipsticks are currently the sole makeup offering, the brand has asserted that a holistic collection spanning eye, face, and nail products is imminent.

There’s also a tight selection of hand creams and soaps, which take their scents from popular fragrances in the brand’s olfactory universe.

Rounding off the Dries Van Noten Beauty offering is a chic selection of beauty tools and accessories, including leather pouches, resin combs, sculptural mirrors housed in leather cases, and silk scarves.

Dries Van Noten Beauty will be available via the Mecca webstore and in Mecca physical stores around Australia from the 27th of August 2024.
