Matildas Star Mary Fowler Is The Newest Ambassador For L’Oreal Paris

There’s something about Mary.

Having charmed the nation over the past year as forward for the Matildas, Mary Fowler has been named a brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris; making her the first female athlete to fulfil the role for the beauty brand in Australian and New Zealand.

A veritable household name, the 21-year-old soccer prodigy has captured attention for not only her impressive skills and freethinking playing style as forward for her current club, Manchester United, and her place on the Australian national team, the Matildas, but for her authenticity, inner strength, and confidence. Most recently Fowler played a crucial role in the Matildas’ 10-0 win over Uzbekistan, bestowing the team with the chance to become the first Australian football squad to win a medal in the Olympic Games.

Brown and raised in Cairns, Queensland, with a mixed heritage spanning Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Ireland, Fowler is the embodiment of the qualities Gen-Z girls and women value, staying true to her authentic self despite her newfound fame.

“I think being ‘worth it’ to me is, on a personal level, being able to look at the opportunities that I get and feel that I’m deserving of them,” says Fowler of her appointment as brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris. “I think when I found out about the opportunity to be an ambassador for L’Oréal Paris I was initially a bit shocked because I was, like, ‘Why would they want me?’

“It made me excited and nervous at the same time because as much as I love skincare and trying to use makeup, I also have no idea what I’m doing; I’m just doing what I think is right and I’m just doing my own thing. I guess mostly I was just excited to be able to express myself.”

Her new role as L’Oreal Paris brand ambassador will see Fowler partner with the brand on upcoming initiatives and feature in campaigns for new skincare and makeup launches.
