How To Emulate The Hottest Men’s Grooming Trends Of 2021

Good news for proponents of the lavish lockdown beard; the facial hair trend continues to live on, albeit with a new disposition. While we’re no longer solely confined to the house, guys are continuing to experiment with new grooming styles, with hair educator and former men’s hairdresser of the year Jules Tognini predicting that the signature iso-beard will appear outdoors in a more traditionally groomed form.

In collaboration with affordable men’s grooming brand Bulldog Skincare, Jules Tognini has shared his predictions for the top men’s grooming trends in 2021, as well as how to get the look yourself. If there’s anyone we’d trust with our hair it’s Tognini, so sit tight and get ready to tackle your scruff.

1. The taming of the lockdown beard

If you let your facial hair go wild during lockdown, you’re not alone. However, Tognini says that “while iso-scruff is likely to stick around into 2021, we’ll see the novelty of really long and unruly facial hair wear off,” with new research revealing that 58% of men are intending to groom their face more and tidy up their iso-beard.

Pro tip

“Tough and dry beard hair can look unruly and even give your partner pash rash – ouch,” warns Tognini, recommending you “keep your beard smelling fresh and clean with Bulldog Skincare’s nourishing Original Beard Shampoo & Conditioner. Use a beard oil, such as Bulldog’s Original Beard Oil, which contains aloe vera, camelina oil and green tea to keep your beard feeling soft and moisturised. Finally, style your beard with hydrating balm such as Bulldog’s Original Beard Balm to bring a healthy shine and keep the hairs in place.”

2. Mo-ment in the spotlight

Last year was a tough one, with fun and experimentation being the name of the game when it comes to men’s grooming trends in 2021. 2020 saw guys start to embrace the moustache, a grooming trend that will continue well into 2021.

Pro tip

“Hipster mos are back, but if you want this look, it’s important to keep it in check,” advises Tognini. “Keep the mo sharp and contained with the right razor, like Bulldog Skincare’s Original Bamboo Razor. With five steel blades and a pivoting head, it’s easy to achieve the perfect mo! And for the ultimate close shave, a shaving gel is the way to go.”

3. Put your best face forward

While we collectively shielded our visages from the public for the majority of 2020, as social distancing rules ease and the weather heats up, we’ll all be seeing a little more of each other. Naturally, there will be a renewed focus on looking and feeling good, with guys really embracing skincare and getting into a solid skincare routine (no more borrowing your partner’s products in 2021!).

Pro tip

Tognini recommends keeping it simple and structured with an easy-to-follow three-step wash-scrub-moisturise routine, with Bulldog Skincare covering all skin types with its range of moisturisers. And here at Albert Review, we always recommend applying a good-quality SPF during the day.
