Sometimes, it’s what’s on the outside that matters. Such is the case with Rimowa and Tiffany’s latest collaboration, with the LVMH stablemates linking up to create a collection that combines the German craftsmanship of the former with design signatures of the latter to create luggage that doubles as a work of art.

The three-piece capsule collection comprises a Jewellery Case, Rock Cut Cabin Suitcase, and Jewellery Personal case. Both the cabin suitcase and jewellery case are crafted from the German maison’s iconic grooved aluminium and take on a ‘Rock Cut’ artwork that mimics the unique facets of a diamond through a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, with the ‘T’ motif subtly worked in. Both feature a trim and handle in the instantly recognisable Tiffany Blue, with the Rock Cut Cabin Suitcase also coming with a luggage tag and wheels in the shade, alongside embellishments on the interior.
Inside, the Jewellery Case features a tri-level design with a mirror on the top half of the suitcase and an engravable silver plaque below. The case opens up to an upper sealed tray with five compartments to store rings; while the middle tray features leather loops intended to secure bracelets and necklaces. The bottom tray houses three large compartments designed to store statement pieces. Naturally, the entirety of the interior is executed in Tiffany Blue.
Meanwhile, the Jewellery Personal sees Rimowa’s signature polycarbonate adopt the Tiffany Blue hue, with the interior taking on an equally colour-drenched approach. The compact case plays host to six jewellery compartments while the exterior is co-branded with the logos of both the German maison and American jeweller, and secured by two colour-matched leather straps.
“We are thrilled to debut the RIMOWA x Tiffany collection, bringing together two maisons with unmatched craftsmanship and innovative designs,” says Alexandre Arnault, executive VP of product and communication at Tiffany & Co. “This one-of-a-kind collaboration unifies two icons in one, both of which are incredibly personal to me and represent the highest calibre of craftsmanship.”
The collaboration is priced from $3120AUD to $6775AUD and will be available via the Rimowa webstore from the 26th of September.
