Go Small Or Go Home; H. Moser & Cie. Has Dropped Two 40mm Arctic Blue Pioneer Watches

One for the slender-wristed adventurers among us.

Proving that bigger isn’t always better, H. Moser & Cie. has added two new models to its popular Pioneer sports watch line. Equipped with 120 metres of water resistance, the H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer is able to traverse both land and sea. Both the Pioneer Tourbillon Arctic Blue and the Pioneer Centre Seconds Arctic Blue come in 40mm case sizes; at 2.8mm less than the current Pioneer styles, they’re the smallest addition to the line yet.

Bathed in striking arctic blue, each dial features the Swiss watch manufacturer’s signature sunburst fumé finish. The brand logo features at 12 o’clock — set in transparent lacquer, it takes on a subtle, unobtrusive appearance. Both the leaf-shaped hands and faceted applique indices are coated in Super-LumiNova, allowing for optimal legibility day and night.

The Pioneer Tourbillon Arctic Blue is kept beating by the automatic calibre HMC 804, a movement designed and produced in-house by H. Moser & Cie’s sister company Precision Engineering AG. Fitted with a double hairspring that works to reduce the effect of friction typically experienced with a single hairspring, the in-house movement boasts improved accuracy and isochronism. Most uniquely, the one-minute flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock is a separate interchangeable module, assembled independently of the movement; which allows for easy servicing.

Striking in its minimalism, the Pioneer Centre Seconds Arctic Blue, this piece is equipped with an HMC 200 automatic movement. Designed and produced in-house, it’s decorated with the Moser double stripes on the bridges and main plate, which houses an engraved oscillating weight. Both the Pioneer Tourbillon Arctic Blue and the Pioneer Centre Seconds Arctic Blue boast a three-day power reserve, making them weekend friendly.

Each timepiece features an exhibition caseback and is can be presented on a rubber, textile or leather strap, or a steel bracelet.
