It’s Calvins Or Nothing For World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz

The crossover between the worlds of fashion and tennis is not a new concept, with fashion houses regularly tapping established and rising stars for campaigns and endorsements. The latest tennis star to make his debut off the court and in front of the camera is current men’s singles world number 1, Carlos Alcaraz, who rose to mainstream prominence for winning the 2022 US Open against Casper Ruud.

Despite his absence at this year’s Australian Open, Alcaraz’s modelling debut for Calvin Kelin ensures he remains front of mind for many. Shot by Gray Sorrenti, a series of stripped-back (and stripped-off) black-and-white photographs showcase the 19-year-old tennis champ in pretty much nothing but his Calvins. Alcaraz is pictured in the Modern Cotton, Cotton Stretch, and Cotton Classic Underwear, as well as new Classic Straight denim. He also dons select styles from the newly released Calvin Klein 1996 Underwear collection; featuring black and white colourways and bold prints, the collection represents a contemporary twist on the brand’s classic pieces.

“Confidence for me is to be yourself, no matter what,” says Alcaraz in the accompanying campaign video.

The shots of Alcaraz represent a continuation of the Calvins or Nothing campaign that debuted last fall, starring actor and singer-songwriter Maya Hawke and professional footballer Romelu Lukaku. Since then, the campaign has featured other trending talent, including top athletes from across the globe.

The Calvin Klein 1996 collection is now available via the brand’s webstore.
