Our Favourite Men’s Underwear Brand Has Launched Womenswear

Swedish luxury essentials brand CDLP is a favourite here at Albert Review, with the boxer briefs and trunks unanimously hailed as the most comfortable and luxurious underwear on the market. Founded in 2016 by Christian Larson and Andreas Palm, CDLP was founded on the basis of reinvigorating the often overlooked market of men’s underwear.

Crafted from silky soft Tencel Lyocell, CDLP underwear swiftly picked up traction, with the brand evolving into a design house of luxury essentials across the categories of men’s underwear, t-shirts, socks, swim and pool, home, and sports.

As of this week, the buttery soft pieces are no longer solely reserved for the boys: CDLP has launched its first women’s essentials collection. The inaugural offering spans briefs, bralettes, a t-shirt, and a tank top, all available in black and white. Briefs are available in six cuts, including thongs, high hipsters, y-front, and classic styles. As with the men’s range, the women’s underwear is available in single pieces and multi-packs.

Derived from renewable wood sources, Tencel Lyocell continues to take centre stage in the women’s underwear collection, providing silk-like softness in addition to breathability and natural moisture-wicking properties. Like the men’s range, the women’s line is characterised by clean lines and precise tailoring. Bralettes are nonrestrictive, with hook-free, pull-over construction that does away with closures, boning, and wires. Available in various coverage styles, the underwear features subtle detailing; herringbone trims, tonal debossed logos, adjustable two-way straps, and silver hardware.

“The line was developed with both a consideration of how the product feels on the skin, but also how it compliments the outer layers—transcending lingerie,” explained Ingrid Guttormsen, design director at CDLP. “Mirroring our men’s line, design was approached through a sartorial lens, not strictly ‘intimates’. Minimalistic underwear is so cleaned away that it lacks identity, or at the other end is logo manic—there was nothing in between that felt purposeful and intentional. While designs are functional, there are delicate details, which creates an interesting connection between under and outerwear. Structures are strong; materials are soft.”

The range is priced from $63AUD onwards and is available via the CDLP webstore and on Net-A-Porter.
