Although Victoria’s Secret has now clipped its famous Angels’ wings in favour of a more progressive approach to selling undergarments in the form of the VS Collective, there’s no denying the chokehold the annual Victoria’s Secret show had on mainstream media during the noughties and early 2010s. As Victoria’s Secret has been shunted to the side to make way for lingerie brands like Savage x Fenty, Dora Larsen, Fleur du Mal, and SKIMS that better tap into the current zeitgeist (and aren’t accompanied by a slew of controversies surrounding their executives), the lingerie giant’s former Angels are left open for work.
When one door closes, another opens, with SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian enlisting former Victoria’s Secret Angels from the brand’s heyday to front the shapewear brand’s latest campaign. Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, Candice Swanepoel, and Alessandra Ambrosio pose wearing nude shapewear and underwear from the SKIMS Fits Everybody collection.

“Tyra, Heidi, Alessandra, and Candice have each played such a distinct and everlasting role in shaping the industry. Outfitting these incredible women in our Fits Everybody underwear collection is truly a full-circle moment for me,” Kardashian said of the campaign. “Our underwear is such a game-changer and has been our best-selling collection since we launched — it stretches to twice its size and is so comfy it just moulds to your body so it fits everyone perfectly. I’m thrilled to celebrate these women alongside a collection that our customers adore.”

While Kardashian herself wasn’t originally supposed to be part of the campaign, the entrepreneur and reality star seemingly couldn’t resist joining Banks, Klum, Swanepoel, and Ambrosio in front of the camera, stripping down to her SKIMS and posing alongside the former Angels. “OK so I wasn’t supposed to be in this @SKIMS campaign,” she wrote on Instagram. “But I stopped by and jumped in because it was too iconic.”
