The Victoria Beckham-Designed Breitling Chronomat Does It All, In Style

Spice up your wrist game.

In a collaboration that feels simultaneously unexpected and natural, Breitling has enlisted Victoria Beckham to design a limited-edition collection of Chronomats. The Breitling Chronomat already sits at the intersection of style and function, with the time-and-date variants in particular representing an elevated take on the classic integrated bracelet sports watch.

“The Chronomat is already a versatile watch with a classic form,” said Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling, of the partnership. “With Victoria Beckham’s signature style, this collection is a modern, radiant expression of that timepiece.”

The new Chronomat Automatic 36 Victoria Beckham sees the eponymous designer translate her sleek, tailored aesthetic into the language of horology. The collection retains core hallmarks of the timepiece, including the metal rouleaux bracelet and raised rider tabs on the bezel at 15-minute intervals. Using the 36mm Breitling Chronomat as a canvas, new dial colours enter the fray, with shades of peppermint, dove grey, sand, and midnight blue nodding to the palette of Beckham’s SS24 collection. Subtle branding sees Victoria Beckham’s ‘VB’ initials act as the counterweight on the seconds hand, while the Breitling logo sits in its usual position at 12 o’clock.

The Breitling Chronomat Automatic 36 Victoria Beckham collection also marks the introduction of yellow gold into the sports watch line, with the six-piece collection comprising three stainless steel models and a trio of yellow gold variants.

All of the timepieces are powered by the COSC-certified Breitling calibre 10, which has a power reserve of 42 hours.

Leaning into the unity of fashion and horology, the accompanying imagery is a far cry from the watch-against-a-black-background shots that are often par for course with releases from venerable manufactures. Lensed by legendary fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti and sported by rising model Annemary Aderibigbe, the campaign takes on an editorial tone, leaning into the aesthetic and lifestyle elements that often seem vastly removed from the mechanics- and provenance-focused watch industry.

The collaboration represents Breitling’s desire to speak to a new audience. Acknowledging that the broader female market tends to bristle at the ‘pink it and shrink it (and often, quartz it)’ approach to women’s watches typically adopted by established manufactures, the Chronomat Automatic 36 Victoria Beckham carves out a space of its own; utilising the timeless design codes that have made integrated bracelet sports watches such a coveted commodity today, while understanding that fashion and function can coexist in harmony. Put simply: they’re cool.

The steel timepieces are priced from $7,990AUD while the gold timepieces are $42,790AUD. The Chronomat Automatic 36 Victoria Beckham collection is now available via the Breitling webstore.
