Prominent on instagram for his surreal, escapist 3D renders of furniture and landscapes, Reisinger sold the virtual pieces in a collection called ‘The Shipping’. Auctioned through online platform Nifty Gateway, the virtual pieces can be placed in any 3D virtual space or game, including Minecraft, Decentraland, and Somnium Space.

Ranging from a twisted metal set of drawers to a petal adorned pink armchair, five of the 10 digital pieces also come with physical counterparts, which will be sent to their new owners. Alongside his pieces, Reisinger also auctioned off the opportunity to have a custom-designed piece, which sold for over $85,000AUD. Each piece of virtual furniture is verified via a non-fungible token (NFT) which are all individually identified on a blockchain.
