It’s Back! The Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster Comes Less Than Six Months After The Bloodline’s ‘End’

Remember when Aston Martin farewelled the V12 Vantage bloodline with a beautiful coupe that saw the 5.2-litre twin-turbo jammed inside a compact chassis? Well, apparently the British marque experienced some serious separation anxiety. The powerful engine has returned in the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster, with an open-top variant elevating the thrilling driving experience.

Limited to just 249 examples worldwide — already sold out, of course — the V12 Vantage Roadster combines the dramatic widebody design and low, wide-track suspension with the eponymous 5.2-litre Twin-Turbo V12 engine. Pumping out 690 bhp and 555 ft-lbs torque, it races from 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds and tops out at a heart-pumping 321km/h. Straight-line steering coupled with the resonant engine work to enrich the driving experience.

Bespoke tuned adaptive dampers have been added to the preexisting V12 Vantage hardware. Carbon Ceramic Brakes come as standard, while the steering calibration echoes that of the V12 Vantage, offering maximum steering feel and quick response.

Mass is reduced through the use of carbon fibre, with the material featuring on the front bumper, clamshell bonnet, front fenders, and side sills, while the rear bumper and deck lid are made from a lightweight composite material. Additional weight savings come in the form of a lightweight battery and centre-counted twin-exit system crafted from lightweight stainless steel. With a voice that matches its aggressive appearance, the new system of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster weighs 7.2kg less than the Vantage Roadster’s exhaust.

With all Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster releases already spoken for, the vehicle marks the second to be exhibited by the British marque at Monterey Car Week. deliveries are set to commence later this year.
