The Jaguar F-Type’s Final Petrol Fling Is Inspired By The World’s Most Beautiful Car

Rest in (internal combustion) power, F-Type.

In the race towards electrification, there are often casualties. The Jaguar F-Type is one of them, with the beloved model being retired next year to make way for the British marque’s all-electric future. However, it’s not going down without a parting word.

The Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition will be the marque’s final internal combustion sports car. Limited to 150 examples, it draws inspiration from two iconic 1960s racing E-Types; a car the great Enzo Ferrari once deemed the “most beautiful car in the world”.

The limited-edition variant is powered by a supercharged petrol V8, delivering an output of 567 bhp. Performance remains unchanged from the classic F-Type, with the Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition racing from 0 to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds and topping out at an electronically limited speed of 300km/h.

“As Jaguar embarks on the boldest transformation in its history, to become a modern luxury all-electric brand from 2025, this is an unrepeatable celebration of Jaguar’s internal combustion sports car provenance,” says Rawdon Glover, managing director of Jaguar. “F-Type has captivated sports car drivers for more than a decade, just as the E-type did five decades before it. The ZP Edition is the ultimate celebration of that lineage, joining an illustrious roster of heritage-inspired collector’s editions including the 2015 Project 7 and 2020 Heritage 60 Edition.”

Two F-Type ZP Edition colourways are available, each inspired by the first race-winning ‘Project ZP’ E-Types campaigned shortly after the model’s launch in 1961. There’s Oulton Blue Gloss with Mars Red and Ebony duotone interior leather and Crystal Grey Gloss with Navy Blue and Ebony Duotone interior — neither of which have been offered on an F-Type before. Both iterations feature racing-style roundels on the doors in Porcelain White Gloss, with the same shade adorning the grille surrounds.

Each colour is teamed with Gloss Black exterior accents, brake callipers, and 20-inch forged alloys. There’s also exclusive F-Type ZP Edition branding on the fenders and a ‘One of 150’ plaque.

While both a coupe and convertible have been released, Australia has only been allocated 24 coupes — 12 in each colour — for delivery. Priced at $373,547AUD (before ORC), deliveries are expected to take place in early 2023.
