A Prada collab is a pretty unlikely event for a brand that’s only been in business for just over a month. However, when you’re Frank Ocean, the odds are stacked in your favour. And so, with just five weeks in the business, the fledgling brand has secured its first collaboration. Initially teased in the extensive Homer launch catalogue lensed by Ocean and photographer Tyrone Lebon, the collaboration is titled ‘Prada for Homer 1’, and marks the first of what looks to potentially be a series of collaborations between the independent luxury company and the Italian luxury fashion house.

Featuring just three pieces, the collection is streamlined, to say the least. Ocean’s luxury brand Homer puts its own spin on the Prada anorak, backpack, and belt bag, with each of the nylon pieces coming in four Homer-esque pastel hues. Coming in mint green, light blue, lilac, and silver grey, each piece is notably devoid of the loud co-branded logos collabs of today are known for. Taking an understated approach, the pieces are instead fitted with an internal co-branded tag.
Launched last month with a vibrant take on luxury, the debut Homer collection featured silk scarves and jewellery, with the latter ranging from an entry point of around $500 to $2.5million. “I didn’t want our work to be any less expensive than Cartier,” Ocean told the Financial Times. A collab with Prada certainly helps solidify Homer’s status as one to be watched in the luxury world.
In keeping with the independent luxury brand’s bid for exclusivity, the Prada for Homer 1 collection can only be shopped via walk-ins or appointments at the Homer store in New York. for more information, visit the Homer website.
