Dior x Sacai Make The Ultimate Power Couple

In a slew of highbrow meets lowbrow collaborations emerges one between two industry heavyweights. Described by Dior as “creative conversation between two designers, two heritages and two cultures,” the Dior x Sacai capsule collection sees the French luxury fashion house join forces with Tokyo, Japan-based high fashion label Sacai.

Merging the Dior sensibility with the technical prowess and knack for hybridization Sacai possesses, the Dior x Sacai collection consists of 57 pieces, comprising ready-to-wear, bags, and accessories. Utilising a predominantly neutral colour palette of black, cream, and deep blues, the collection transposes Dior designs onto Sacai’s technical fabrics, constructs workwear items using classic Dior tailoring, and introduces a co-branded logo that see the Sacai name nestled vertically within the ‘I’ in Dior.

Naturally, the signature DIor saddlebag makes a standout appearance, incorporating elements inspired by Sacai like pockets, drawstrings, water bottle compartments, and industrial style straps. Other bags are reconstructed with nylon in shades of orange and olive into the mix, combining with the traditional buttery leather to create technical style pieces. Jewellery sees the iconic CD logo combined with Sacai pearls, while footwear sees the Dior Snow and Dior Explorer boots take on Sacai elements in a minimalistic, layered fashion.

The Dior x Sacai collection will be dropping in November, 2021.
