Mon Coeur; Saint Laurent Rive Droite Has Landed In Australia

For Antipodean citizens, Valentine’s Day just got a little more fashionable. Launched by Anthony Vaccarello at rue Saint-Honoré in Paris in 2019, Rive Droite was the incumbent creative director’s way of paying tribute to the Rive Gauche line Yves Saint Laurent launched in 1966 in a bid to democratise fashion. “I had had enough of making dresses for jaded billionaires,” the eponymous designer claimed at the time. In the same vein, Rive Droite represents Saint Laurent taking a wider outlook than mere fashion and luxury, with Vaccarello turning his eye to the artistic and cultural scenes.

Now, four years after it first launched, Rive Droit is coming to Australian shores. Well, online shores at least. While there’s no bricks-and-mortar store (yet), Rive Droite has launched a dedicated Australian e-commerce section, allowing Antipodeans to partake in the action without a visit to Rue Saint-Honoré or Rodeo Drive.

To celebrate the Australian launch in style, Saint Laurent has released a selection of jewellery and padlocks for the event. Complementing the overarching Valentine’s Day theme are curated vinyls, heart-shaped paperweights made in collaboration with Baccarat, and vintage lighters. There’s also a collection of notebooks that masquerade as classic novels, debuting with Paul Haurrigot’s Adultère.

Rive Droite by Saint Laurent is now available in Australia via the brand’s webstore.
