The first of the two Tommy Hilfiger x Timberland drops is a 17-piece capsule comprising apparel, footwear, and accessories. Evoking the spirit of the ‘90s, each piece references the hip-hop scene that was instrumental in helping both brands forge their paths. Across the range, Timberland’s instantly recognisable wheat and orange colour palette meld with Tommy Hilfiger’s heritage red, white, and blue trio. A co-branded logo was created for the occasion, appearing throughout the line.
“This partnership with Timberland has been such a creative adventure for me and a long time coming,” said Mr Tommy Hilfiger. “Diving into our archives and reliving that optimistic, ‘anything is possible’ energy of the ‘90s along with Timberland was a great and nostalgic experience. Culture shaped our brands, and in turn, we shaped the fashion landscape of the time.”
Drawing upon the workwear aesthetic that is almost synonymous with Timberland and hip-hip culture itself, the Tommy Hilfiger x Timberland collection features an array of transitional pieces, designed for wear during inclement weather and between seasons. Functional items like zip-off carpenter pants, a reversible two-in-one varsity jacket, a voluminous recycled parka are designed with function in mind. Naturally, the Timberland 6-inch boots stand front and centre, getting the Tommy treatment in the form of the Timmy Hilfiger flag and added zip detailing.
To celebrate the shared New York City heritage of both brands, the Tommy Hilfiger x Timberland drop one was captured in a campaign shot by local photographer and multi-disciplinary artist Jack Greer and videographer Malt Disney.
The Tommy Hilfiger x Timberland Collection is available on both the Tommy Hilfiger and Timberland webstores, as well as in select physical stores worldwide.
