Études has lent its signature brand of cool to the Veja Fitz Roy silhouette, with the two French brands collaborating on a sneaker that’s just as suited to the office as it is to the trails. Inspired by nature but well-suited to contemporary urban tastes, the Fitz Roy is decked in shades of mineral grey and accented with Études’ signature blue. A geometric pattern pays homage to the rugged landscapes of the Vercors Massif, a place that holds special significance to Études co-founders Jérémie Egry and Aurélien Arbet.

The collaborative sneaker shows co-branding done right, with white Veja ‘V’ and Études ‘E’ logos appearing on the lateral and medial sides, respectively. The Trek-Shell upper is crafted from 100% recycled polyester and executed in the aforementioned grey tones, while pops of blue appear on the laces and lace loop.
The tightly woven fabric used for the upper is treated with PFC-free water repellent, making it suitable for extreme weather conditions. The midsole is crafted from 52% sugar cane while the sole includes 31% Amazonian rubber, with the multi-directional crampons and Rock-Plate construction of the latter offering protection and stability on the trail.
“At Études we are familiar with both environments,” said Aurélien Arbet, co-founder and creative director at Études. “We grew up in Grenoble in the Alps, we feel close with what a pair of hiking shoes should deliver. At the same time, we know that most of the people will want to wear it in the city to punctuate a look. This is the mindset that made this collaboration unique.”
The accompanying launch campaign for the collaborative sneaker is shot by Thomas Rousset at the Parisian Tour Montparnasse and depicts a climber seized with a bout of urban athleticism during the office day, representing the visual and technical duality of the Veja x Études Fitz Roy.
