H. Moser & Cie. Brings An Age-Old Technique Into The Modern Era With An Intense Lime Green Dial

Continuing their exploration of fumé dials, Swiss Haute Horlogerie brand H. Moser & Cie. has turned its attention to the art of enamelling. Bringing the age-old technique into the modern era, the Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green utilises H. Moser & Cie.’s most popular release, imbuing the pared-back dial with interest through the use of a hammered texture.

Postulating that the three-hand embodies the essence of watchmaking, H. Moser & Cie. posits that the devil is in the details, with aesthetic perfection achieved through “immaculate proportions, harmonious forms, [and] high-end finishes.” The latter element is achieved by approaching an ancient art form through a modern lens, aligning it with contemporary tastes to ensure it’s not forgotten. Part of the brand’s ‘Concept’ line, the Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green is devoid of any markers and branding, ensuring all attention is on the eponymous lime green dial.

The strikingly minimalist dial originates as a gold base, which is hammered to achieve a unique pattern. Then, three different green colour pigments are washed, finely crushed, and applied to the dial to create an ombré effect, which each pigment applied individually to allow them to oxidise and then melt together once heated in the furnace. According to H. Moser, each translucent Grand Feu dial, each dial must be fired up to 12 times to achieve the signature fumé effect. Due to the handmade nature of the timepieces, each watch will be unique, with the hammered texture and enamelling slightly varying from dial to dial.

Each steel case sits at 40mm and is finished with a grey kudu leather strap. The H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green is equipped with the HMC 200 automatic calibre movement, visible through a sapphire glass caseback. Produced in-house and featuring a regulating organ manufactured by Precision Engineering, a sister company of Moser, the HMC 200 is characterised by its double hairspring (recognisable by its purple seconds hand and blue balance bridge) and bo-directional pawl-based winding system. Adorned with the H. Moser double stripes, the movement guarantees a power reserve of at least three days.

Priced at approx. $37,000 AUD, the Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green is available via the H. Moser & Cie. webstore.
