Iris Law Serves Up Tennis-Ready Style For The New Superga Campaign

Italian footwear brand Superga has enlisted model and style influencer Iris Law for its fall/winter 2022 campaign. Exuding laidback style, the British model has swiftly become a familiar face in the fashion world, with her platinum blonde buzzcut — debuted last year — only serving to enhance her streetstyle cred.

Following in the footsteps of fellow models Hailey Bieber and Emily Ratajkowski, Law has been announced as the newest Superga ambassador. Her first campaign for the heritage brand sees her showcase her own twist on some of Superga’s most iconic styles while paying tribute to the brand’s origins in tennis.

Although you’re now more likely to see a pair of Supergas sported on the streets than on the court, the Italian brand was once best known for its tennis shoes. Now, the ‘people’s shoe of Italy’ has once again returned to the court for fall/winter 2022. Shot at the National Tennis Association by photographer Lea Colombo, the images take on an intimate style that is both glamorous and nostalgic. Parisian stylist Virginie Benarroch dressed Law in a series of casual, tennis-inspired looks.

AN italian classic
Founded in 1911 by Walter Martiny, Superga hit its stride in 1925 with the creation of the 2750 model which featured vulcanised rubber soles. From there, the brand focused on shoes for everyday and sports wear, namely tennis.

“My personal style today is inspired by yesterday’s influences, giving way to new ideas that disrupt heritage and origins,” said model Iris Law. “I have always been drawn to how Superga pairs feminine attitude with iconic Italian style. They are the ultimate wardrobe staple.”

The campaign focuses on the Superga Classic 2750, a style that was conceived as the first Italian tennis shoe over a century ago, and the upgraded 2641 Alpina Boot, which derives inspiration from 1950s trekking boots. The shots also feature a couple of new styles, notably the 3041 Revolley Colourblock Platform and the 799 Rubber Boots Lettering. Blending functionality with old-school cool, we predict the latter style will be a new cult favourite, given the dreary weather of late.
