Sydney Sweeney Channels Anna Nicole Smith In Latest Guess Originals Campaign

In a case of a rising icon paying homage to an eternal icon, Sydney Sweeney derived inspiration from Anna Nicole Smith for her new GUESS Originals campaign. Despite beginning its story in France, GUESS has become known for its distinctly all-American appeal, capturing the signature allure of old Hollywood in its campaigns that were often ahead of their time.

Romantic and adventurous, previous GUESS girls have included Claudia Shiffer, Naomi Campbell, and of course, Anna Nicole Smith. Now, the American brand is paying tribute to one of its most infamous and influential faces, with the GUESS Originals x Anna Nicole Smith capsule. The 32-piece capsule collection spans menswear and womenswear and comprises both apparel and accessories. Accompanying the collection’s release is a campaign starring Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney, who recreates Smith’s 1992 GUESS Jeans ads shot by Daniela Federici.

Lensed by Kenneth Cappello in Malibu, the black-and-white images feature Sweeney recreating some of Smith’s iconic looks, posing in a vintage car and on the beach. The capsule itself was created in collaboration with artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt and is rendered in shades of teal, black, white, and red. Select pieces are emblazoned with Smith’s signature as well as Dewitt’s phrase “Did You Miss Me?”, while other items feature digitally-printed images of Smith.

The capsule collection will be available from 7th October onwards via GUESS stores and on the GUESS Originals webstore
