Rihanna’s Fenty Hair Has Something For Every (Hair) Type

Rihanna has expanded her beauty empire with the launch of Fenty Hair. Joining a long line of celebrity-founded haircare lines including Beyoncé’s Cécred, Tracee Ellis Ross’ Pattern Beauty, Jennifer Aniston’s LolaVie—*gasps for air*—Jonathan Van Ness’ JVN Hair, Gabrielle Union’s Flawless, Rita Ora’s Typebea, and Brooke Shields’ Commence, Rihanna’s Fenty Hair is the singer and entrepreneur’s first foray into the haircare space.

Since her commercial debut over two decades ago, Rihanna has sported almost as many hairstyles as years she’s been active. From the Good Girl Gone Bad asymmetrical lob and the iconic red era—a personal favourite—to platinum blonde and dreads, the Bajan singer’s hair acts as a touchstone for her career highlights.

“Hair has always been very personal to me—my hairstyles have been markers of my evolution and growth over the years,” Rihanna explained in a press release “so launching Fenty Hair was something I was really passionate about.”

What products are in the Fenty Hair range?

Given the broad spectrum of hairstyles she’s sported, Fenry Hair takes a holistic approach to haircare, focusing on hair health for all hair types. The Fenty Hair collection debuts with nine products, each of them being vegan, sulphate-free, and silicone-free. The lineup comprises a shampoo, two conditioners (standard and deep-conditioning), repair treatment bond builder, heat protectant styler, curl-defining cream, strong hold styling gel, edge control gel, and a 3-in-1 edge styling tool.

The cornerstone of each formula is a proprietary complex called Replenicore-5. Made up of amino acids, hydrolysed vegetable protein, Barbados gooseberry, jackfruit extract, and green tea extract, the Replenicore-5 complex is designed to hydrate hair and protect against heat damage. The complex is present in not only the shampoo, conditioners, and repair treatment, but extends to the styling gels and curl cream.

The range is designed to cater to all hair types and styles, from natural textures and protective styles like braids and twists to heat-assisted styles (think bouncy blowouts) and sleek updos and ponytails.

Is Fenty Hair cruelty free?

According to the Fenty Hair website, the entire range is cruelty free and vegan, in addition to being free from sulphates and silicones.

Can I buy Fenty Hair in Australia?

Australians can purchase Fenty Hair via the Fenty Beauty webstore, with free shipping available on orders over $100AUD. Fenty Hair is not currently available in stores in Australia, however the Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin ranges are both stocked in Sephora stores across the country, meaning there’s a pretty good chance of a dedicated Australian launch in the future.

The Fenty Hair range is priced from $34AUD to $67AUD per product and is available in Australia via the Fenty Beauty webstore.
