A Monochromatic Makeover By Brosa Takes This Sydney Loft To New Heights

Nestled within the dynamic city of Darlinghurst and featuring expansive views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, this luxury loft required an interior refresh to take it to the next level. Having made a name for themselves for their unfussy and accessible approach to luxury furniture, Australian design house Brosa has transformed this formerly outdated loft into an elegant, contemporary space that befits its prime location.

With a plethora of furniture styles in their arsenal, from contemporary and mid-century to Scandinavian cool and Japanese-inspired wabi-sabi, the Brosa team was tasked with determining the overall stylistic vision for the loft. Acknowledging the good bones and exemplar views the loft offered, Brosa opted to imbue the space with a sense of timeless luxury, dubbing their style of choice as ‘monochrome modern’.

The monochrome modern style extends across the entirety of the loft, which comprises three bedrooms — two of which feature ensuite bathrooms —, an open-plan living area, and a dining and kitchen zone complete with a white veined marble benchtop. Classic Brosa pieces were selected not only for their aesthetic appeal, but for their ability to optimise the layout of the space.

On-trend bouclé features in the living and sitting areas, with the plush Seta Sofa and Ada Swivel Chair arranged around a duo of sleekly minimalist Coltrane Coffee Tables crafted from black beech wood. Sparse but thoughtful coffee table decor and black-and-white soft furnishings add a sense of intrigue while adhering to the modern minimalist style.

Eschewing completely rectilinear lines, Brosa embraces natural, organic shapes in this loft. Despite the level surface, the incorporation of a black low-profile semi-circular sofa set opposite two Bailey bouclé armchairs creates the feeling of a conversation pit, adding structure and a sense of privacy to the open-plan space.

Each of the three bedrooms takes on its own unique tone while remaining cohesive with the rest of the loft. One takes on a dark, moody vibe with a deep grey headboard lightened up by linen bedding in neutral tones. The other two bedrooms opt for a lighter approach, complemented by bedding in peach and mustard hues as well as monochromatic abstract art.

Offering well-crafted contemporary furniture at affordable prices, Brosa makes it easy to replicate the aesthetic of the Darlinghurst luxury loft at home or mix and match pieces to suit your own design aesthetic.
