McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S

Three Australians Will Be Able To Zoom Around In The McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S

British marque McLaren is bringing the McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S down under, to the Formula 1 driver’s home country. Arriving in (very) limited run, just three McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S models will be made for the Australian market, developed by McLaren Special Operations in collaboration with the McLaren Sydney and Melbourne dealerships.

“One of the great privileges of driving for McLaren is getting behind the wheel of many of the brand’s exhilarating supercars and while each offers something unique, the 720S is the absolute benchmark,” remarked Daniel Ricciardo, Formula 1 driver, McLaren Racing.

Designed to celebrate Ricciardo, who recently achieved his first Italian Grand Prix race win with British marque, each McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S will be decked in papaya orange and accented with burton blue, reflecting the colours used on the McLaren Formula 1 2021 MCL35M race car. Similarly, the limited run is symbolic of Ricciardo’s racing number ‘3’. Other notable features include carbon fibre sills inscribed with Ricciardo’s signature, ‘One of Three’ dedication plates, Ricciardo’s race number 3 etched on the iconic 720S dihedral doors, and the Australian flag adorning the front haunches.

“Daniel Ricciardo’s relentless determination and pursuit of excellence are qualities that perfectly reflect the McLaren ethos,” said George Biggs, commercial executive director at McLaren. “Following McLaren’s outstanding performance with a landmark one-two finish for the team at the Italian Grand Prix, it’s the perfect time to reveal this limited series in celebration of the Aussie driver.”

Pop the hood and you’ll find the McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S’s stats are unchanged from the standard McLaren 720S. However, as the majority of Australians are not F1 drivers, the 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds with a max speed of 341km/h should be more than sufficient.

The McLaren Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S will be arriving on Australian shores later this year and while costs are currently unconfirmed, the McLaren 720S currently sets you back a cool $499,000. So, it’s quite likely that the limited edition iteration will cost a pretty penny, making the three vehicle run an apt decision.
