The British marque and the Italian motorcycle manufacturer have linked up for an unexpected collaboration that sees the former’s grand tourer interpreted through the latter’s sports cruiser lens. Based on the platform of the Ducati Diavel V4, the newcomer looks to the Bentley Batur for inspiration. The marque’s most powerful production car, the Batur will be Bentley’s W12 swan song, with the bonkers engine boasting an output of 740 bhp and 737 ft-lbs of torque.  The Batur is limited to 18 examples, each of which are individually hand-crafted by Mulliner, the oldest coachbuilder in the world and Bentley’s in-house bespoke division.

Meanwhile, the two-wheeled interpretation is limited to 500 examples. The Ducati Diavel For Bentley was created by Centro Stile Ducati in collaboration with Bentley designers. The silhouette of the side view of the Batur influences the design of the motorcycle, which takes on a sculpted, muscular form. The resultant Diavel is executed in carbon fibre and features a striking bodywork paintjob in Scarab Green which comes from the Bentley Mulliner palette.

Revised bodywork sees the Diavel V4 take on elements inspired by the Batur, with the side air intakes taking cues from the Batur’s front grille and a front mudguard with three vertical ribs that recall those on the hood. The forged rims also reference those of the car and are partially clad in Dark Titanium Satin, leaving some machinated surfaces visible. The rider’s seat is constructed from black Alcantara and draws upon the design of the Batur’s interior, and is embroidered with the Bentley logo in red on the rear pad.

In addition to the core release, there will also be a further more exclusive series of 50 examples, titled Diavel for Bentley Mulliner. Available exclusively to Bentley Mulliner customers, collectors will be able to customise their saddle, front brake callipers, carbon fibre parts, and rims, and match the bodywork colour to that of their car — because having a car and a motorcycle that don’t match is a travesty.

The powertrain of the Diavel for Bentley remains unchanged from the original, using the standard motorcycle’s 1158-cc liquid-cooled V4 which generates 166 bhp and 93 ft-lbs of torque. Coupled with the Ducati Diavel V4’s 236kg curb weight, it’s likely to leave even the Bentley Batur in its dust.

The Diavel for Bentley is presented in a personalised wooden case and delivered with a certificate of authenticity, passenger seat, and motorcycle cover.

While the collaboration may seem a tad random, both Ducati and Bentley are subsidiaries of Volkswagen Group, which also controls Audi and Lamborghini. Indeed, Diavel and Lamborghini previously collaborated on a Diavel 1260. We can’t wait for more linkups. Continental Huracan RS7 Diavel, anyone?

The Diavel for Bentley Mulliner is priced from $94,800AUD and is available upon enquiry via the Ducati webstore.
