Designed to celebrate Harley-Davidson’s most sought-after models, the Icons Collection sees H-D’s signature colours, designs, and parts paired with the latest technology, with each model individually numbered and produced only once. Limited to just 1500 examples, the Low Rider El Diablo combines the touring prowess of a frame-mounted fairing and hard bags with the easy handling performance of the Softail chassis used in the FXLR ST. Powered by a Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin, it produces 123 ft-lbs torque at 3500RPM.

“The Low Rider El Diablo is a modern expression of the iconic 1983 Harley-Davidson FXRT and a representation of the creative times it was born in,” said Brad Richards, VP of design and creative director at Motorcycles Harley-Davidson. “It embodies the spirit of counterculture in Southern California in the ‘80s in a contemporary package that features meticulously crafted custom paint, including pinstripe trajectories that nod directly to those of the original FXRT.”

Drawing inspiration from the original 1983 FXRT and West Coast style, the Low Rider El Diablo is clad in a multi-layered paint scheme applied by Gunslinger Custom Paint. The paint scheme begins with a base of El Diablo Bright Red with a second pass of Bright Red Sunglo. The red pinstripes are masked off and a layer of El Diablo Dark Red and Dark Red Pearl is faded around the panel shapes to add depth. After masking, a layer of El Diablo Dark Red Metalic is applied around the original El Diablo Bright Red, with a gradient effect used to create interest. The bright red hue also features in pinstripe form atop the saddlebags, tank sides, fenders, and fairing. Pale Gold pinstriping is then hand-applied within the El Diablo Bright Red Panels.

The detailed colour scheme is complemented by black finishes on the powertrain, front end, and exhaust, while cast aluminium wheels are finished in a matte shade of dark bronze.

Slated for delivery later this year, the Harley-Davidson Low Rider El Diablo is priced at $39,995AUD.
