Underscored by a sense of escapism, the latest 1 Moncler JW Anderson collection takes shape in bold hues and psychedelic patterns that keep the eye engaged. Like his previous collaboration with the luxury Italian fashion house, Anderson continues to create a dialogue with the outdoors, speaking to Moncler’s roots as a purveyor of functional skiwear. But while last time the collection was more geared towards exploration, FW22 1 Moncler JW Anderson creates a lively interaction between clothing and the elements.
Shapes are pared-back but still playful; while the signature Moncler puffer adopts a streamlined silhouette and is rendered in pastel hues, cushioned shorts and abstract pattered sweatsuit sets lend the collection a sense of surrealism. The unisex capsule comprises padded parkas with leather straps, cropped blusons, zip-up jackets, padded vests, oversized jumpers, sweatshirts, hoodies, teddy fleeces, padded miniskirts and bermudas, and roomy trousers.
1 Moncler JW Anderson plays with proportions by supersizing accessories. Large tote bags and slides are padded to the point of bulbousness, while Chelsea boots sport bouclè details and are encased in crocheted hats.
