Canine Couture; The Gucci Pet Collection Is Here

Are you wearing th– The Gucci collar? Yes, I am.

Love ain’t cheap and even man’s best friend knows it. Imbuing the quotidian with a sense of wonder, Gucci has released its first pet collection. Sitting within the lifestyle category of the luxury Italian fashion house, the Gucci Pet Collection is the result of creative director Alessandro Michele’s vision.

Far from a tightly-curated drop, the Gucci Pet Collection is extensive, with everything your stylish four-legged friend could possibly need in their day-to-day lives. At the lower end of the price spectrum sit items like an air tag holder and waste bag holder (if you have to go, go in style), as well as more practical pieces like pet collars and leashes. Made from monogrammed canvas and demetra (an animal-free leather alternative) and featuring the signature interlocking GG hardware, there are multiple shades available, allowing you to match your pet’s collar to your Gucci belt.

There’s also a choker-inspired cat collar complete with a dangling GG logo and gold spikes, should your cat — or chihuahua — want to stand out from the pack. However, it only comes in extra-small, so it appears size discrimination extends to felines. For animals who require firmer handling, harnesses for small to medium dogs are also available.

Other lifestyle items include pet carriers, feeding mats, food and water bowls (as well as an oh-so-essential bowl cover), and pet beds. Naturally, cats and dogs wearing Gucci collars can’t walk around naked. Fear not, there’s also a range of sweaters, coats, and t-shirts to keep your pooch repping the Gucci gang.

Modelling the collection is a diverse cast of canines and felines, photographed by Nabimiman-German artist and designer Max Siedentopf.
