The $10000 Dior Gardening Kit Is For High Fashion Horticulturalists

True lovers of gardening wouldn’t be caught with a Bunnings shovel in hand. Fortunately, Dior has created an alternative designed to sate the high fashion horticulturalists. Designed by creative director Kim Jones, the Dior Gardening Kit is an ode to Christian Dior’s love of nature. “Close to the earth, I always feel more secure,” the French fashion house founder wrote in his memoir.

Available in black or white, the Dior Gardening Kit comprises a foldable stool that houses a hand rake and space. The stool takes its design cues from the iconic Dior Saddle bag, with the leather adorning the stool taking on the silhouette of the bag. A magnetic flap pouch on one side of the bag allows for the storage of small gardening items (seeds, perhaps). The Dior branding features on the legs, with the D-hardware appearing on the leather piece.

Set to make your neighbours’ thumbs green(er) with envy, the hand rake and spade take shape in stainless steel, with palladium hardware and grained leather handles.

Perhaps suspecting that a $10000 AUD gardening set mightn’t be flying off the shelves in this economy, Dior has wisely limited the purchase of the Dior Gardening Kit to a few select physical stores in Europe.
