As the northern hemisphere gears up for summer, Fendi celebrates the warm weather with a dedicated summer capsule. Imbued with joy, the Fendi Summer 2021 capsule is dominated by vibrant, uplifting tones of sunny yellow and light blue. Featuring a collaboration with New York-based visual artist Sarah Coleman, the Fendi FF Vertigo capsule spans bags and accessories and men’s, women’s, and children’s RTW.

Known for her disruptive manipulation of materials, Coleman’s work rethinks and repurposes everyday objects with an ironic filter. Working collaboratively with Silvia Venturini Fendi, accessories and menswear creative director at Fendi, the duo revisited the iconic FF logo pattern, reimagining it through a ‘70s psychedelic filter. The resultant effect is FF Vertigo, a new magnetic motif featuring a twisted version of the signature FF monogram.
Throughout the accessories range, the FF Vertigo logo is applied on tanned leather through inkjet technology, printed on canvas, and makes its way onto a tobacco jacquard fabric. The logo can be found on the reeditioned Fendi Baguette 1997 bag, as well as the contemporary Bauletto mini and Mini Sunshine Shopper styles.
Women’s ready-to-wear taps into the sense of adventure and liberation inherently tied to an outdoor lifestyle, with the collection fusing the unique style and sophistication associated with Fendi with practicality. Functional multi-pocket skirts, transformable jackets, and cargo pants take on a utilitarian feel, paired with form-fitting bodysuits and draped tops that bear the FF Vertigo pattern, which also appears on sporty windbreakers teamed with coordinated gym sets, one-piece swimsuits and bikinis, as well as on trench coats, fluid pants, and lace dresses.
Similarly, the men’s ready-to-wear collection derives inspiration from the freedom of the outdoors. Translated to t-shirts, bowling shirts, and bermuda pants crafted from lightweight yet resistant fabrics emblazoned with the FF Vertigo jacquard, as well as fisherman’s vests teamed with coordinated baggy pants, polished raincoats, and summer suits crafted from lightweight organza.
Childrenswear takes on a mini-me approach, with menswear and womenswear silhouettes reinterpreted for their younger counterparts. The utility feel is carried on in the form of outfits rendered in nylon and compact canvas pants. Organza draped frocks and tops, as well as beachwear, also feature in the collection; naturally, all emblazoned with the FF Vertigo pattern.
The FF Vertigo pattern also makes its way onto novelty objects like a bento box and polaroid instant camera, as well as outdoor objects like a men’s technical backpack and camping set.
The Fendi FF Vertigo capsule is available to shop on the Fendi webstore.
